People love to joke, Why do women talk so much? But for most women, talking isn’t noise…its connection. Conversation is how we bond, process our day, and feel less alone. It’s why so many women thrive in relationships centered around roles like counseling, nursing, and teaching.
And if you’ve ever flown next to a woman, you know this well. Sit between two men, and you can sleep the entire flight. Sit next to a woman, and before the plane leaves the gate, she wants to know where you’re going, why you’re going, and who you’re meeting. By cruising altitude, you’ve exchanged life stories.
Women communicate on multiple levels…tone, expression, even the lift of an eyebrow. It’s a gift. But Scripture reminds us that every gift calls for wise stewardship.
Jesus said, But I say to you that for every idle word men speak, they will give an account on the Day of Judgement. For by their words thou shall be justified and by thy words, thou shall be condemned. Matthew 12:36-37 (KJV)
So, yes, women talk. We connect. We share. We process. But we’re also called to guard our words. Because conversation can build, but it can also, destroy.
The God who designed our voices, also asks us to use them with purpose, truth, and grace.
Reflection Question:
Lord where have my words this week reflected Your heart, and where have they drifted from it?
